NJ Native Dies After Pennsylvania Crash, Coroner Says

One driver died from his injuries after a crash in Palmer Township on Tuesday evening, Jan. 30, officials say.

Joseph R. Hoagland, 68, suffered a medical emergency that led to a wreck in the parking lot of the William Penn Highway Weis, said the Northampton County Coroner's Office. 

Hoagland, of Wilson Borough, was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital - Anderson Campus where he passed from blunt force chest injuries on Wednesday, Jan. 31, authorities said. His death was ruled accidental. 

According to his Facebook, Hoagland was from Phillipsburg, New Jersey, and attended Phillipsburg High School. 

Dozens of friends and loved ones posted tributes in his memory on Wednesday. 

No memorial service information was available as of Friday, Feb. 2.
